The last of Autumn

With the recent gales and heavy rain of late our usual autumnal colours have almost gone for this year. We did our 10km walk today hoping to photograph the remnants. No words are needed as the slideshow is self explanatory.

Lovely. You can almost see my house in Bury in the final sequence.

I love that golden glow of autumn light. Sunny days at this time of year have to be snatched. Would that I could do the same, but I get little pleasure from walking at the moment, and I am making do with catch-up on my reading.

We can imagine how you must be feeling Conrad and we wish you a speedy recovery. This time of year is my favourite, it’s a pity the days are short but you can get some great light for pictures. ( Not that I am any sort of expert).

Snap Alan....looks like we both had the same idea.

Yes,snap. It was a lovely day. A few more decent days before spring will be good.

Very good Alan. I like the video. Down here in Timperley there has been hardly any frost and the leaves are still mainly on the trees, so if we get some bright days there are still some good autumn colours to enjoy.

Thanks Martin. Enjoy the colors while you can.

Another cracking post Alan.

My wife spotted something I hadn't noticed, but looking around she was right. There were hardly any reds in the leaves as they changed this year; mostly they went straight from green to orange/brown, at least in our neck of the woods.

We only had the deep reds for about 3 or 4 days in our local park but our trees are mainly Beech which go golden brown and look wonderful.
